Here is a recent report from our Overcomers facilitator in the
Fort Worth Federal Prison. Mike and Margaret are also our
volunteers of the year. they are very special people who love God
and love Overcomers. This report really blessed me and I know it
will excite you.
Before I start-a side note-we handed out the new Spanish books
last night. The inmates who have been with us from the start for
nearly 2 years now were in tears as we reminisced-
We started with the Spanish inmates not having anything in Spanish
and having to join in our group of English speakers with one of
them translating. I told them at that time that if they would pray
that we also would unite in prayer with them for their own program
in their own language with Spanish materials.
The next step forward was the first spiral bound Spanish books but
still in the English speaking group.
The next step was our being able to furnish a Spanish Pastor for
them so now they had their own separate meeting in their own
Language with a Spanish book.
This next step finds them not having a Spanish leader but we are
leading them in their own group through an interpreter BUT they
now have a beautiful Spanish workbook.
They know we are working on translating the DVD's now but it will
take a long time. So they are learning that God answers the
desires of their hearts but sometime you have to wait for the
answer.
THEY ARE THRILLED AND GREATLY ENCOURAGED AS ARE WE!
(The old timers and Mike and I just had to shed some tears at the
opening of the case of the beautiful books. I told them their
faithfulness to the program helped determine the need for these
materials.)
Now to the business part-We started back at the prison on Oct. 21
so their are 2 reports but I will have to send them in a separate
email as I have to leave for an eye appointment.
